The spark for the collection came from an unusual sub-genre of anime that explores the world of golf — including Dan Doh!! from 2004, based on the manga by Nobuhiro Sakata, that follows a young baseball player, Tadamichi Aoba, in his discovery of the sport. Another notable anime about golf is Pro Golfer Saru, which was serialized in the late 1980s from the manga of the same name by Motoo Abiko.
Supplementing this inspiration, we take cues from early Japanese streetwear in terms of prints and colors; especially their usage and exploration of bandana prints, collegiate details and camouflage.

Radda Golf’s inaugural collection took inspiration from the album cover of American new wave band Devo - Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!
The artwork for the cover features an illustration of renowned golfer Juan Antonio “Chi Chi” Rodriguez, whom the band admired for his atypical golfer persona. This 8 time PGA event winner’s on field style matched his loud showman personality.

Taking its style cues from a subculture that arose from the die-hard football fans of the UK in the late 1970’s, the range references football hooliganism that normally involves conflict between gangs. Known as football firms, the term derives from the British slang for a criminal gang, formed for the purpose of intimidating and physically attacking supporters of other teams. British football support has had a strong fashion-led subculture element since the rise of the teddy boys in the 50s and continued with the mods and skinheads of the 60s. Cahill+ takes this specific and revered style code to a new level, translating all these design elements, reinvigorating and updating them. Classic Harrington jackets are updated in technical fabrics, polo shirt ribbing is repurposed for crew neck collars and cuffs, and prints are taken from subverted logos from the Casuals’ favourite brands.

Architectural elements of Shanghai Hongkou Stadium are deconstructed, looking at the building’s geometry and multifaceted textural layering. This is translated into a collection that considers a cross-fabricated monochromatic range, which completes outfits that traverse textures and volumes to create a multi-layered look.
